Launched in April 2016, the British Isles Grooming Association is a grassroots coming-together of like-minded pet grooming professionals.

• We rely often on Volunteers (and always looking for others to share their talents!) (This is COMMUNITY at work together)
• We are a trade association created by groomers, for groomers
• BIGA belongs to its members. Not to anybody else. We're 100 per cent independent

We have a say on Licensing / Regulation

Back in 2016, there was talk of 'regulation' coming to the industry. Regulation would set out to ensure the highest standards of care and welfare of our pet cats and dogs during grooming. Who better to lend their expertise to this noble aim than groomers themselves, who are, after all, among the front line of pet professionals? We wanted to be part of this!

So today, we're Associate Members of the Canine and Feline Sector Group (CFSG) which advises Defra (Govt) , linking arms with other pet professionals, putting forward our proposals and feedback specific to the pet grooming experience. An exciting once-in-a-generation opportunity.
